Our Story

Journey to STEAM began in 2023, when our founder, Dr. Arielle Hammond, set out to solve a simple but deeply personal problem. As a local mom and longtime school principal, she wanted her children to fall in love with STEM from the very beginning. Long before they were born, she and her husband dreamed that their babies would one day reach for the stars… literally. (Becoming astronauts has always been part of the family plan.) But when she searched for programs that were hands-on, rigorous, joyful, and truly designed to unlock that kind of potential, nothing measured up.

So she created the program she wished existed.

With over a decade of experience leading schools, coaching teachers, and designing curriculum, Dr. Arielle knew exactly what high-quality learning required. But becoming a mother added a new, non-negotiable standard: every lesson had to be something she’d be proud to give her own children. That blend, the precision of an educator and the heart of a parent, is what shapes Journey to STEAM today.

We believe kids thrive when they build, explore, collaborate, and test their ideas in real-time. That’s why our programs are intentionally designed to develop confidence, creativity, and resilient problem-solving. And it’s why we invest in exceptional instructors. We hire fewer than 10 percent of applicants, bringing on experienced educators and STEM professionals who see brilliance in every child. Each instructor receives hands-on training and coaching from Dr. Arielle to ensure that every classroom is a safe, joyful, structured, and truly enriching environment.

What started as one mom’s commitment to her own children has evolved into a community of families and educators dedicated to providing the very best for their young learners. Journey to STEAM is built on high expectations, meaningful learning, and the pure childhood joy that can shape a future.
