After-School STEAM at Your Child's School
Weekly LEGO engineering, robotics and coding right after dismissal, at partner schools across the Portland metro. Small groups grouped by age, instructors we'd trust with our own kids, and everything they need in the room. Register online in minutes.
Classes fill. Waitlists open the moment they do.

This term's classes
Find your school, then register on enrops, the registration system we use. Times are the class start and end; kids walk over at dismissal.

This list comes straight from our registration system, so it is always current. Prices vary by program, length and school and show on each class and at checkout, where the enrops service fee is added. School not listed? Bring Journey to STEAM to your school.
Registration runs on enrops, the enrichment operations platform we built after running our own programs. Any school, PTA or program can use it to take registrations for free.
How it works
- Register online. Pick your school and class on enrops. Pay by card. Your confirmation arrives right away, and reminders come before day one.
- Dismissal to program room. Your child walks to the program room like any club. The instructor checks them in from the roster and the building starts.
- One term, one big build. Every week adds a skill. By the last session your child has a game, a robot or a machine that works, and they present it.
- Pick up at the door. Authorized adults only, checked against the roster, every time.

What's included
- Every material. LEGO kits, robots, Chromebooks and software. Nothing to buy.
- A real instructor. A trained adult in the room the whole time, and groups kept small.
- A learning path. Fall, winter and spring build on each other, so a full-year family sees their kid go from first game to real robot to text-based code.
- Scholarships. Need-based awards from the Journey to STEAM Scholarship Fund. Apply here.

How much does after-school cost?
Prices are set per class and shown on each class above and at checkout, where the enrops service fee is added. This term’s classes vary by program, length and school. Some school- and library-funded programs are free, and full-year registration, where offered, discounts all three terms together.
What happens the first day?
Your child goes to the program room right after dismissal, the same way they'd go to any club. The instructor checks them in from the roster, and the building starts within minutes. You pick up at the stated end time at the door the school uses for after-school pickup.
Who teaches?
Licensed teachers, retired educators and educators in training. Every instructor is background checked and trained in child protection and mandatory reporting before their first class. Fewer than 10% of applicants make it.
How big are the classes?
Small and grouped by age. Preschool groups are the smallest, and grades 2 to 5 are sized to our set of Chromebooks so every kid has a device. When a class fills, a waitlist opens, and enough waitlisted kids open a second section when the school has the space.
What does my child need to bring?
Nothing. We bring the LEGO, the robots, the Chromebooks and every material. Kids bring curiosity and a snack if the school allows it.
What if my child misses a class?
Classes build week to week, so the instructor catches them up the next session. There are no refunds for absences.
What is the refund policy?
Full refund minus a $35 administrative fee if you cancel more than 15 days before the first class. No refunds inside 15 days. If we cancel a class, you get a full refund.
My school isn't listed. What now?
Tell us. One email from a parent or PTA leader starts a program at a new school, and we send you the email to forward. Bring Journey to STEAM to your school.
Register for this term
Registration takes a few minutes. Where full-year registration is offered, it discounts all three terms and holds your child's seat for winter and spring.
