7/27-7/31 Afternoon - Hillsboro Summer Camp: Next Level Robotics
Next Level Robotics: Busy Cities
In this intermediate robotics camp, campers take their coding and engineering skills to the next level as they design and program vehicles and helper robots for a bustling LEGO® city using LEGO® SPIKE™ Essentials and word-based block coding.
Campers will learn how to:
Build and program robotic models using motors, sensors, and word-based block coding
Apply sequencing and logic to make robots move, respond, and complete tasks
Use the engineering design process to build, test, and improve working robots
Strengthen problem-solving skills by troubleshooting and refining code
Collaborate with peers to design solutions for real-world city challenges
Through hands-on builds and open-ended challenges, campers are encouraged to think like engineers—testing ideas, improving designs, and exploring multiple solutions. This camp is ideal for students ready to deepen their robotics skills while building confidence, creativity, and independence in coding.
By the end of camp, students will have a stronger understanding of robotics and coding concepts and the confidence to tackle more complex STEAM challenges.
