No-School Day Camps and the 2026-27 No-School Calendar for Portland-Area Districts
Teacher in-service days, conference days and holidays sneak up fast. Here is every weekday Portland-area kids are out of school this year, by district, plus Journey to STEAM camps on the days families need them most.
We post camp days here first. Families on the list hear before anyone else.
Which days are Portland-area schools closed in 2026-27?
The biggest shared days off are Veterans Day (Wednesday, November 11), Thanksgiving week, winter break (December 21 to January 1), Martin Luther King Jr. Day (January 18), Presidents' Day (February 15) and spring break (March 22 to 26 in every Oregon district we checked). All ten districts are closed Nov 25 to 27, and nine of ten are closed Nov 23 and 24.

What does a no-school-day camp look like?
One focused day of building, coding and problem solving, led by the same instructors who teach our after-school programs. Kids work in small groups by age and finish the day with something they made and can explain. Every instructor is background checked, trained in child protection and emergency response, and observed.
