What is the Journey to STEAM Scholarship Fund?
The Scholarship Fund lets Journey to STEAM offer sliding-scale, need-based scholarships across every program, so no child is turned away because of finances. Award size follows each family's need. 100% of Scholarship Fund dollars go to scholarships; Journey to STEAM covers the cost of every sponsor benefit.

Impact figures use current Journey to STEAM program prices: $285 for a fall term of LEGO Engineering and $720 for a full school year of after-school programs. Scholarship amounts follow each family's need, so these describe what a sponsorship makes possible.

Sponsor questions
Is Journey to STEAM a nonprofit?
No. Journey to STEAM is a locally owned business. We fund scholarships the way a college offers financial aid, because a child's access to great STEAM programs should not depend on a family's budget.
Can we deduct this?
Sponsorships and contributions to our Scholarship Fund are not tax-deductible charitable contributions. Many businesses treat sponsorships that include advertising benefits as a marketing expense. Check with your tax advisor.
Can we sponsor from a marketing budget?
Yes. Most sponsors do. Every level includes brand placement with local families, and the Community Champion level and above include events for your employees or community.
Can we choose a school or city?
Yes. Tell us your preference at checkout or on the next page and we match your sponsorship to it.
Where exactly does our logo appear?
It depends on the level: the Scholarship Fund page for Seat Sponsors, the school or camp page for Classroom Sponsors, the city page and sponsor band for Community Champions, and sitewide for Presenting Sponsors.
What reporting do we get?
A photo recap for Classroom Sponsors, and a quarterly impact report with photos and program numbers for Community Champion and above.
Can employees volunteer?
Yes, as showcase judges and at family STEM nights. Volunteers who work directly with kids complete our background check first.
Do you accept in-kind sponsorships?
Yes, for items our programs use, such as LEGO kits, robots and Chromebooks. Email Arielle with what you have in mind.
Do you work with national companies?
Yes. The Workforce Partner level was built for national and regional employers. For $10,000 and up, reach Dr. Arielle Hammond directly at arielle@journeytosteam.com.
