After-School STEAM for Your Whole District
LEGO engineering, robotics and coding for ages 3 to 12, at one school or at every school. We bring the instructors, the curriculum, the materials and the insurance. Your schools bring the kids. Founded by Dr. Arielle Hammond, a former school principal.

What we run for districts
After-school enrichment
Weekly one-hour classes on campus right after dismissal, eight sessions a term. LEGO engineering, robotics, coding and game design.
Community education classes
Classes for your community education or extended learning catalog. We send the class descriptions and photos on your timeline.
Break and no-school-day camps
Full-day and half-day STEAM camps on in-service days, winter break, spring break and summer.
Family STEM nights
One-night events where families build, test and try again together. A strong fit for back-to-school and family engagement nights.
Preschool STEAM
Hands-on STEAM for ages 3 to 5, built for early learners and their attention spans.
Scholarship seats
Need-based scholarships through the Journey to STEAM Scholarship Fund, so cost never decides who gets to build. Partners can also fund seats for their families.
How a district partnership works
- Pick the schools and the terms. Start with one school or several. Add more as families fill the classes.
- Choose who runs registration. Families register and pay online through enrops, and your district handles no money. Or your district runs registration in its own system and we invoice you.
- We teach every class. Trained instructors, curriculum written by educators, and every material, delivered to the room.
- Your schools share one flyer. We handle the rosters, the reminders and the questions from families.
Built for district requirements
- Screened and trained instructors. Every instructor is background checked and trained in child protection and mandatory reporting before the first class, with annual safety and first aid refreshers. We hire fewer than 10% of applicants.
- Insurance on file. We send a certificate of insurance naming your district on request.
- Attendance for every session. Attendance is recorded digitally, every session, every site.
- Light on your buildings. One classroom, cafeteria or library for about an hour after dismissal. We leave it the way we found it.
- Built by a principal. Dr. Arielle Hammond, Ed.D., spent a decade in school leadership, eight years leading schools, before she founded Journey to STEAM in 2023.

Can you work with our district's registration system?
Yes. Some partners run registration in their own system and we invoice them. Others have families register and pay online through enrops, so the district handles no money at all.

Ages 3 to 12, preschool through grade 6, grouped by age.
Can we start with one school?
Yes. Start with one school, see the classes fill, and add schools from there.
Where do you run programs?
Across Multnomah, Washington and Clackamas counties in Oregon and Clark County in Washington.
How do families who can't pay join?
Through need-based scholarships from the Journey to STEAM Scholarship Fund, so no child is turned away because of finances. Your district or a partner can also fund seats. See scholarships.
